It is my pleasure to welcome you to the AIS Indonesia website. We warmly invite you to browse through what we have to offer and look forward to welcoming you to our friendly and vibrant community.

AIS Indonesia is a multi-campus school. In Jakarta we have a Primary campus in Kemang (Preschool 3 to Year 6) and a Secondary campus in nearby Pejaten (Year 7 to Year 12). Our Bali campus caters for Preschool 3 to Year 12 and our Balikpapan campus is a smaller Preschool to Year 6 campus. In all, over 700 students enjoy the benefits of being taught in a manner consistent with best practice in Australia and indeed the world.

Operating the Australian school year from late-January to mid-December facilitates a seamless transition for students entering from, or returning to, Australian or southern hemisphere schools or tertiary institutions. However by adopting a flexible and inclusive approach we are able to very readily cater for local and expatriate students from all nations.

Our teachers are well trained and well qualified. Most are from Australia and must have registration with a State or Territory teacher registration authority as well as a Bachelor of Education or equivalent. We have a smaller number of talented and enthusiastic teacher qualified local teachers and expatriate teachers from other nations who have developed a real affinity for the Australian curriculum and style of teaching. They are supported by a wonderful team of local Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants.

From Pre-School to Year 10 our students follow the Australian National Curriculum; a new curriculum which incorporates the best features from all over the world and is based on the most effective teaching practices. We use the new Australian Curriculum (AC) framework to guide our delivery of English, Mathematics, History, Science, Geography (taught as Units of Inquiry), PE and Health. The Arts, currently based on the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS) will gradually be converted to the Australian Curriculum as they are introduced in the near future. All students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 take part in the annual Australia-wide NAPLAN tests. Our results generally exceed the expected standards.

Senior students in Jakarta (Years 11 and 12) can undertake the IB Diploma program alongside the AIS High School Certificate and the IB Certificate. Senior students in Bali can undertake the ACT Year 12 Certificate program however we expect to begin teaching the IB Diploma in 2018. Students who successfully complete Year 12 have access to top universities in Australia and around the globe and we are creating an alumni of very successful people in the business, educational and entertainment world.

We have a strong reputation for providing an academic, yet diverse, stimulating and inclusive education. Our goal is to encourage high achievers, critical thinkers, responsible global citizens and students who are prepared to achieve the highest standards, both in their education and their subsequent career.

Please browse our website and contact any of our campuses for further information.

I look forward to meeting you and welcoming your family to AIS Indonesia.
