AIS Kemang celebrated Young Authors’ Week with gusto across the campus over two weeks.
The Book Week got off to a great start by cutting of the ribbon, followed up with the community invited to come in to our wonderfully decorated hall to read their child’s book (and those written by other students). This continued with the hall open every lunch time for students to come in and read with soft music playing in the background. Many parents also visited classes to read a favourite book to the class and the book stalls outside the Library offered all kinds of great books on sale.
The Young Authors’ Week parade was especially fabulous with students dressed up as a book character in a stunning range of costumes. Our staff also fully supported the parade and their costumes were very much appreciated by our students.
The visit by guest author Michael Harries was very well received and the special Young Authors’ Week dance was a huge hit with parents and students alike.
But the highlight of the event was definitely the finale 'The Rainbow Flash Mob “Gotta keep Dancing”…with students dressed in rainbow colours rocking to the beats in front of the hall and enjoying taking their books and reading lights home.
