On Wednesday, 23d March, we celebrated two important days. Harmony Day is celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. It is a day for all to embrace cultural diversity and to share what we have in common. The central message for Harmony Day is that ‘everyone belongs’, reinforcing the importance of inclusiveness to all at AIS. Students made videos today explaining what Harmony Day means to them.
We also celebrated World Down Syndrome Day with the theme of ‘Sock it with a Smile’. All students were in orange and socks today and looked fabulous. We decorated the ground around our classroom with smiley faces and helped out our Year 1 buddies too.
