Young Artists at Work

On Thursday 9th November, AIS Kemang Campus presented their wonderful Art Show to a very appreciative AIS community. It showcased artwork from Preschool 3 to Year 6. Both creative 2D and 3D work was displayed and the show featured works in drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, photomontaging and photography. Throughout the year, students have been introduced to new and varied techniques as well as renowned artists and art movements. Sculptures by Year 5 and 6 were inspired by the work of Alberto Giacometti and allowed students to look at movement and proportion of figures in Art. Year 1 studied Expressionism and the work of Edvard Munch to produce their own ‘Scream’ paintings. Preschool 4 discovered shapes and images found in Miro’s paintings and used these in their own chalk drawings.

The opening night included beautiful musical performances by AIS Kemang and Pejaten students. An auction was held to raise money for further Art projects and some very happy parents took home the amazing, collaborative class canvases our students had created with their class teacher. The night was a resounding success and a memorable display of the great art work happening at AIS.
