Students study the Arts in a supportive environment where they are encouraged to take risks and to meet new challenges. The range of individual and group projects helps in the development of their confidence and self-awareness – vital life skills of great personal value.
The Arts program, comprising Performing Arts and Visual Arts, offers a diverse range of creative disciplines. The complete focus is on the development of work that reflects originality, self expression and creativity.
The Performing Arts include:Dance Drama Music We integrate the performing arts into major productions, such as musicals and plays, as well as in specialist subject areas. Individual tuition is also available for a range of musical instruments.
The Visual Arts include:
Art such as design, collage, digital imagery, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculptures and textiles to express ideas and feelings about characters, events and situations
Media such as sound, color, movement and light, to communicate ideas and feelings about characters, events and situations.
Art skills are progressively introduced, reinforced and expanded throughout the school years. This knowledge base enables secondary students in Years 10 to 12 to analyse and critique artwork, explore present-day art issues and develop independent projects.
