Our school takes a highly practical approach to the teaching and learning of Information Technology and assesses progress towards the planned outcomes through practical demonstrations by our students.
The Information Technology program caters for a range of interests and abilities.
At our Primary School level, Technologies describes two distinct but related subjects:
- Design and Technologies, in which students use design thinking and technologies to generate and produce designed solutions for authentic needs and opportunities
- Digital Technologies, in which students use computational thinking and information systems to define, design and implement digital solutions.
In Secondary School, web design is introduced allowing students to incorporate multimedia elements such as sound, video and graphics into their work.
Students can then extend their IT skills by developing rich interactive animations or online games. Our students’ knowledge base expands, culminating in the students becoming not only proficient users and developers in Word, Excel and Access, combined with skills in end-user support, but also skilled in software installation.
