Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

It was another busy week at AIS Bali.  Teachers have been busy finalising the Semester 1 student report cards, while students have been busy concluding various units of work. Year 12 students have been particularly busy with the various internal assessments (IAs) associated with their IB Diploma courses, as Terms 2 and 3 are always busy times in this programme. I am sure all students will be looking forward to the holidays in one weeks’ time, but especially those students in Year 12; my advice – make sure you balance your time during the break!  You need time to rest and revive, but you also need to ensure you are using the break to get on top of the IAs due in Term 3 and begin the revision process in preparation for your final exams!  Can you believe Year 12 students only have 12 school weeks left until their final exam begin!

This week I was off campus attending the ‘Train the Trainer’ course for the Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum that we follow here at AIS. The program is based on the themes that ‘We all have the right to be safe’ and ‘We can help ourselves to be safe by talking to people we trust’. Four focus areas fit nicely into our four-term year. The focus areas are:

  1. The right to be safe
  2. Relationships
  3. Recognising and reporting abuse
  4. Proactive strategies

At present, the program is facilitated through our Health programs but will be incorporated throughout other key learning areas soon. We will be holding parental information sessions next semester for parents who want to learn more about the programme.
