Dear Parents and Carers,
We have now reached the end of a very busy and productive semester. It is now time to take a break, recharge our batteries and prepare for the second half of the school year. At present we have around 35 new students who will be joining the AIS community starting Term 3. We are very excited about this growth and look forward to welcoming all of our new families to AIS Bali.
This week I visited Jakarta to work with Pak Henri Bemelmans on the final documentation for our Council of International Schools (CIS) Supplementary Report. This has now been sent to CIS and I look forward to receiving their feedback on the report. While in Jakarta I also attended Pak Henri’s farewell. Henri has been the Principal at the Jakarta Campus since July 2016 and it has been a pleasure working alongside Henri as a fellow campus Principal. Henri has been a great mentor to me over the years. I thank Henri for the collegial support and guidance that he has given me over the years, especially when we were all navigating our way through the pandemic. You will be missed Henri!
We also have a number of families who are leaving AIS this term. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family all the best with your future educational endeavours. I know you all leave AIS with fond memories and we look forward to hearing about your academic achievements in the future.
This week, the main focus for Bali Bytes is NAIDOC Week. Every year, the week beginning the first Sunday of July is National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) Week. It’s all about celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, achievements and history. As this normally falls during our semester break we always celebrate NAIDOC week before the end of Term Two.
I hope you enjoy this week's bytes. Enjoy the break and we look forward to seeing you in Term Three on Tuesday 26 July.
