PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to the Week 2 Bali Bytes. Term Four has gotten off to a great start. Term Four, like all terms, is a very busy term. This week our senior students participated in the Senior camp in North West Bali, our Year 9 & 10 students went on work experience and our Junior Primary students took part in their first school stopover!

Today is World Teachers Day, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our teachers and assistants for the great job that they do in educating your children. As teachers, we don't often get congratulated, and it is always nice to hear words of thanks. Positive words of thanks often keep us going in challenging times.

Next week the Active Football Academy, Klim Swim and Extra Curricular Activities start. Students participating in BSSA Volleyball are also asked to participate in practice games on campus next Wednesday.

Today we welcomed parents back to our Primary Assembly. This week's assembly was hosted by Year 4. The students did a fantastic presentation about South Korea and also performed a Koren song on their recorders, with Leroy holding the beat on the hand drum. Congratulations to all students in Year 4, Ms Natasha, Ms Oleyvia and Ms Lenny.

This week we also received information from the Governor's office that various businesses in selected areas of Bali will need to be closed and workers to work from home during the dates of the G20 conference. We are looking further into this as we are located in Denpasar Barat - West Denpasar, and the directive talks about Badung and South Denpasar. The information we received is that schools are needing to go online from Monday, 14 November to Thursday, 17 November. There may be a number of roadblocks around the island that may stop students from being able to access the campus during these days. Once we have more information, we will let you know what will be happening in Week 4.

Enjoy the bytes!
