Dear Parents and Carers,
This week, although a shorter week than most, has been jam-packed with activities and celebrations. This week also makes the start of Ramadan for our Muslim community. Ramadan is the Arabic name for the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.
It is considered one of the holiest months for Muslims and is marked by a period of fasting, considered one of the Five Pillars of Islam.
Our Hindu community celebrated the New Year, Nyepi. This great day of silence is one of my favourite days of the year, and I often wish it occurred more than once a year. I hope you all enjoyed the silence; it was so lovely to see so many birds back in urban areas and the amazing display of stars at night when there is no light pollution.
Many events are occurring in the next couple of weeks, so please make sure you read the Bytes carefully, so you can attend all events.
Enjoy this week's Bytes!
