Arts

Beyond the core curriculum, the exciting realm of imagination is explored through the creative possibilities of the Arts. At AIS school, we provide an environment which supports and nurtures that most unique of all human qualities - creativity.

Students study the Arts in a supportive environment where they are encouraged to take risks and to meet new challenges. The range of individual and group projects helps in the development of their confidence and self-awareness – vital life skills of great personal value.

The Arts program, comprising Performing Arts and Visual Arts, offers a diverse range of creative disciplines. The complete focus is on the development of work that reflects originality, self expression and creativity.

We integrate the performing arts into major productions, such as musicals and plays, as well as in the specialist subject of Music. Individual tuition is also available for a range of musical instruments.

The Visual Arts include:
  • Art such as design, collage, digital imagery, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculptures and textiles to express ideas and feelings about characters, events and situations
  • Media such as sound, color, movement and light, to communicate ideas and feelings about characters, events and situations.

Visual and Performing Art skills are progressively introduced, reinforced and expanded throughout the school years. This knowledge base enables high school students in Years 10 to 12 to analyse and critique artwork, explore present-day art issues and develop independent projects.
