AIS Jakarta is seeking a Mandarin Chinese Teacher to commence in January 2025.
Location AIS Jakarta Campus
Contract 1 year contract. Extension of contract upon mutual agreement between school and teacher
Minimum Experience 5 years teaching Mandarin Chinese (preferred)
Minimum Qualification Bachelors of Education
Language Abilities English (proficient) and Mandarin Chinese (proficient)
Start Date The successful applicant will be expected to commence on 18 January 2025 for orientation, teacher planning days and AIS Conference before students commence on Thursday 30 January 2025

AIS is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, delivering the IB Diploma Programme to students in Years 11 & 12. AIS Indonesia was fully accredited by CIS in September 2015. AIS is also a member school of the East Asian Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS), the Indonesian Association of National Private Schools (ANPS) and is classified as an SPK school under Indonesian law.
We are looking for a teacher with outstanding subject knowledge in Mandarin Chinese who can teach from Years 3 - 8 initially.

General Job expectations include;

Planning

  1. Become familiar with and use the Australian Curriculum documents for Languages - Mandarin Chinese. Click to access documentation.
  2. Creating for each term a forecast of work to be covered with assigned classes, identifying skills to be mastered, teaching objectives and styles, and operating within the School’s curriculum guidelines.
  3. Planning ahead with regards to the need of resources, equipment and manpower so that the system does not become overloaded.
  4. Attending and contributing to topic, department and full staff meetings, concerning any aspect of development within the school.
  5. Working as part of a team and in line with the Learning Support Coordinator to establish and teach a differentiated programme to cater to EAL students/ students on an IEP

Teaching

  1. Teaching classes assigned on the timetable.
  2. Covering any additional teaching assignments as requested by the School.
  3. Offering extra-curricular activities to a group of students outside those with whom the teacher has direct contact.

Communication with Parents includes

  1. Written progress reports as required.
  2. Attending parent-teacher interview days or evenings.
  3. Contacting a parent with the permission of the Principal should it be deemed in the interest of the child for e any reason at all.
  4. Attending functions and activities as requested by the Principal.

Administration

  1. Keeping up-to-date records on pupils in your care.
  2. Organising and keeping up to date an efficient filing and retrieval system on pupil records, curriculum materials and correspondence.

Presenting a Professional Image

  1. Being pleasant and efficient in the performance of duties.
  2. Contributing to the development of ideas for the further refinement of school policies and practices.
  3. Always being neatly presented (as per the Staff Dress Policy), courteous and helpful.

Contribution to School Events

  1. Assisting in the planning and execution of sports events, drama and musical presentations as requested and / or Co Curricular Activities events as requested.

Assistance to the Principal

  1. Contributing to the successful management of the School.
  2. Performing other duties reasonably requested by the Principal.
