10 Nov 2023

Dear Parents,

We have had a great week at AIS with the highlight being the Primary Book Week Celebrations which culminated with a marvelous book character parade at this morning’s assembly. I was also fortunate enough to join Year 8 English during the week for presentations on student designed utopian cities. Next week, the last of the Year 12 students will finish their exams and begin a well earned rest before their Graduation on Friday 24th November. Next week we will also wish the 35 AIS Jakarta students and 15 AIS Bali students who will head to AIS Saigon for the AISA Games.

Even though we are only in November, we are busy planning for an exciting 2024 at AIS. In addition to the high quality teaching and learning that takes place in our classrooms and learning spaces we’re planning more opportunities for our students such as primary inter-school sports, Model United Nations and International Mathematical Challenge to mention a few. We are also investing in high quality professional learning for our teachers so they can be aware of current best practices to further improve the quality of teaching and learning for our students.

The teachers from AIS Bali and Jakarta come together on the 25th and 26th January 2024 for the AIS Conference to p’an collaboratively, learn together and continue working on our Council of International Schools (CIS) Self Study which will culminate in our Evaluation Visit next August. As part of the conference, we are planning a parent session for Friday 26th January on cyber safety and young people which will be led by Australia's foremost expert in
the area, Susan McLean.
