PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
AISA Games
Next Wednesday, 39 students from AIS Jakarta, 28 students from AIS Bali and 11 staff will travel to Singapore for the Australian International Schools (AISA) Games. This year’s AISA Games will be hosted at AIS Singapore from Thursday 28th - Saturday 30th November. The AIS Indonesia teams will spend Wednesday afternoon training so the players from both campuses can get to know each other and their coaches before an Opening Ceremony on Thursday evening. We will be fielding a swimming team, a girls netball team, a mixed touch rugby team, a boys soccer team, a girls soccer team, a boys basketball team and a girls basketball team. Our athletes and coaches have put in a tremendous amount of work preparing for the matches. Special mention to Mr Hector, Ms Nicola (AIS Bali), Ms Remy & Ms Fiona for all of the behind the scenes work to make the trip possible. Thank you also to the Yayasan Board who sponsored the traveling and playing kits for all team members.
Year 12 Graduation
Yesterday our Year 12 students led a fun Year 12 Final Assembly where they could celebrate the end of their schooling with all of the high school students. We enjoyed a number of musical performances, poetry recitation, student speeches and presentation of merit awards and AIS Kangaroos. Tonight, they will have their Graduation Ceremony at the AYANA Midplaza Jakarta where they will celebrate with their families and teachers. I know that a lot of preparation has gone into the event so I am sure it will be a huge success that our graduates remember fondly for years to come.
Parents Thank You Coffee Morning
I will host a Parents Thank You Coffee Morning at 0815 on Monday 9th December for all parents who have supported the school throughout the year. Instead of sending invites and possibly missing people out, I would like to ask parents to RSVP by completing this form, and let us know the ways you’ve supported us—whether it’s presenting to students, assisting with PnF events, participating in CIS meetings, or contributing in any other capacity.
School Closed - Wednesday 27th November
AIS will be closed on Wednesday 27th November due to the regional election that will happen simultaneously across Indonesia to elect 37 Provincial Governors and 508 Mayors or Heads of Districts. The AISA Games trip will continue as planned with staff and students meeting at school at 4:00am
