PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Groundbreaking for AIS Campus @ Nusantara IKN
I was joined by a number of AIS staff and Board members on Wednesday for the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the AIS Nusantara IKN Campus. I was very proud to be a part of the traveling team that included not only Board members, senior leaders and expat teachers, but also members of our administrative team and support staff, many of whom have been members of the AIS staff for more than 20 years.
The Team from AIS were joined for the ground breaking ceremony by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, attending ministers, members of the IKN Authority and other invited guests and dignitaries. I spoke about AIS commitment to becoming a part of Indonesia's dynamic new capital and its ambitious plan for the Golden Generation 2045. AIS‘s master development project will include a new AIS campus, vocational and special education centres plus an Australian university. AIS is firmly committed to supporting the Indonesian government's initiative to relocate the nation's capital to IKN Nusantara.
Further details and photos of the special occasion will be shared shortly

Term 3 Overview
As with every term since I’ve arrived at AIS, we have had a very busy term. As always our major focus is providing high quality teaching and learning experiences for all of our students. Our staff work consistently to ensure their planning is differentiated to challenge all of our students. I hope that all parents had the opportunity to participate in rich conversations about their children’s learning with their children and their teachers at this week’s Three Way Conferences.
Our CIS Evaluation Visit which took place in early August saw the culmination of over 2 years of preparation and self study. We are expecting our report very soon which we will share with the school community. John Milliss, the Principal of AIS Jakarta and I will use the report to guide the development of the AIS 2025 - 2029 Strategic Plan.
Other highlights from this term were our Year 5 & 6 DRama Show, Primary School Camps, numerous JAAC sporting fixtures, Year 11 Market Day, Indonesian National Day Celebrations, Year 12 Mock Exams, Visiting author & artist Wendy Binks and the week’s athletics carnivals.
A big thank you as always to our wonderful students, teachers, support and admin staff and parents for your contributions to what was a very successful term. I hope that you all enjoy the school holidays whether you are traveling or staying in Jakarta and I look forward to seeing you all again on Monday 14th October.
