Social Emotional Thinking

We believe that nurturing the whole child brings a plethora of benefits. An emotionally healthy school plays an important role in the development of a child by building a positive sense of wellbeing and a strong emotional self to help face life’s challenges with confidence. If students are emotionally healthy and experiencing positive relationships at school, an increased academic readiness is evident.

Our high school campus in Jakarta has been running a Social and Emotional Thinking (SET) program that demonstrates the importance we place on the whole child. Constantly looking at ways to progress and continually nurture our students, our SET program has been designed to meet the needs of our culturally diverse student body. It is an ever-evolving program, which supports inclusion through responding to current issues within the student body, directly challenging behaviors in addition, to equipping students with the skills necessary to handle challenging situations. These practices increase emotional literacy, empathy and compassion.
